UNISEX SALON
Unisex Salon (Self-released)

Gina Calavera and Kenyon Corazon have come up with 12 minutes and 4 seconds of music that
makes me want the rest. NOW! I'm WAITING! It's funny... no, hilarious, and it's funky
and rocks at the same time, which doesn't happen often enough anymore. Gina and Kenyon
converse musically in such a way that you aren't sure who's wearing the pants (or the
strap-on, as the case may be), but there's heat and tension in them thar voices, much as
it was between Fee Waybill and Re Stiles (and later Martha Davis) in The Tubes. Only the
subject matter isn't as "normal" this time around. This time it's about sharing razor blades,
kiddie porn and STDs. Don't fret: the kiddie porn bit is just a funny line in one of the
three songs. They're not really serious. They're off the wall. They're off EVERY wall.
They're off the freakin' ceiling. They're so strange they had to make even stranger music
to surround them, but they made sure it moved and had power. Awesome stuff. Now somebody
find them, toss them into the studio and don't let them out until they have an entire album
done. I MEAN IT!
