CRAIG NORTHEY
Giddy Up (Page/EMI)

A rather nice little slab of soulful pop this. Clocking in at under half an hour, Giddy Up is but a quick 8-track appetizer, introducing this Craig Northey fella. Sampling the scratchy voice of Curtis Mayfield surmising his life and craft on what sounds like his deathbed, Northey opens his disc with his heart, and does his best to let the music follow, with predictably mixed results. Oh and Craig used to be in the power pop Canuckband the Odds, for those who care about such matters.
