HOLOPAW
Holopaw (SubPop)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Posing as a pedal steel laced warble folk rock outfit, Holopaw certainly pull off that Palace Music style angle, but they do so with a witty bent and some oh so subtle electronic seasoning. And hey, these boys are not afraid to use trumpets when the moment is right. The old, the new and the very witty. "Hula-La", "Pony Apprehension" and "Teacup Woozy" are grand titles. Wait till you hear 'em. Staggering music that will draw tears, cheers and another round of beers.
