JON LANGFORD AND HIS SADIES
Mayors Of The Moon (Bloodshot)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Ageless cowpunker Jon Langford drinks and records with our beloved Sadies, and by all accounts, both ventures are a resounding success. It's a natural progression really: from the ever evolving but steadfastly British punk rooted Mekons, to the mixed continental countrified spunk of the Waco Brothers, to the honest to goodness purveyors of Canuck country gold affectionately known as the Sadies. And friends, tis a marriage made in heaven. Langford's wonderful lilt backed by the weeping twang of the Good boys is indeed a heart-warming experience. As witnessed the other night at the local drinking and dancing establishment, Jonny boy has finally got his cowboy boots on the right feet. Yipee!
