T.A.T.U.
200 Km/H In The Wrong Lane (Interscope)

Here we go. Leave it the Ruskies to start the year off with a bang bang. Vampy teenage duo t.A.T.u. have been kicking it on Moscow MTV, causing quite a stir with "All The Things She Said", which steals the riff from "Rock Me Amadeus" and adds some girl-girl love action lyrics. Commie lesbos invade right wing heterosexual American rock'n'roll - the world is indeed coming to an end. But hey Anna Kournikova proved that Siberian chicks aren't just muscle bound Olympic athletes with five o'clock shadow, and the time is ripe for someone like Julia (the vampy one) and Lena (the other vampy one) to sweep the glitter rug from under Britney and her hip shaking gang. Sure, hearing the same synth riff over and over gets tiresome, but that's what the dancing legions demand, and producer Trevor ("Video Killed The Radio Star") Horn knows how to beat a dead horse right up the charts. Frankie Goes To Moscow! You bet. Ok one more: t.A.T.u. You! Couldn't resist.
