BOBBY BARE JR's YOUNG
CRIMINALS STARVATION LEAGUE

From The End Of Your Leash (Bloodshot)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Fulfilling the promise of his recent wonderful EP, the junior Bobby Bare makes his mark on the music world. There are few entertainers who can pull a rabbit out of the hat every time (just ask Bullwinkle), but Bobby manages the trick for each and every tune contained within the confines of his latest recording venture. Those still waiting for the Nashville sounds his pappy employed may get some satisfaction from a couple of sliding guitar numbers, but this here's a record without borders, moving all over the map, and that my friends, is a good thing indeed. The song comes first, and a suitable style follows. Sure there are violins and dulcimers, but there are also trumpets and baritone saxes, and it all revolves around Bobby's warm beer delivery. Bobby Dylan made fun records like this back in the day.
