Burdened with the impossible task of following last year's bombastic boogie masterpiece "Karazma!", Canned Hamm have spiraled into the depths of the disco gutter, exhausting every glitter avenue in a futile attempt at rekindling the magic of their coming out party. It's sad really. The fetching fringed sky blue plastic jump suits, the perfectly coiffed hipster hair and moustaches, the exquisitely pancaked make-up - it's all for naught, as too much fast living has obviously taken a toll. Oh sure there are a couple of sexy bump and grind moments, and there's no denying the power of the underlying homoerotic tension, but there's only so many dance-floor beats to be rehashed out there. Yes, the Hamm brothers (or are they?) offer some deliciously hammy moments, but those no doubt will work best in a live cabaret setting. Can't wait for the show.
