The Instant Single Collection Volume 2 (Boss Tuneage)
Reviewed by Holly Day
The packaging of this CD is just great - it's stuck in a vinyl 7"s cardboard sleeve, but inside is an LP-length CD containing a single's worth of tunes from each band included on the CD (3-5 songs apiece from 6 different bands: Rope, Baby Little Tablets, Innerface, Skeeter, Beauty School Dropout, In Harm's Way). It's apparently also listing for the price of one 7", too, if the cautionary note on the back cover to purchasers can be taken at face value. So far as the music goes, it's all pretty cool punk rock, most of which definitely coming from the late Social Distortion school of music, with serious-sounding lyrics, harsh power chords, and melodic but rough-sounding vocals. This is a great way to catch up with the Boss Tuneage roster, which is very large and seemingly growing daily.
