OL' DIRTY BASTARD
N***a Please

Reviewed by John Sekerka

While the booming world of rap is imploding unto itself in a faux street wise, quick sell, gloss over substance, pop pap stance, Ol' Dirty Bastard continues to talk the walk and walk the talk. Rude, vile, dangerous and damn funny, Ol' (to his friends) has made the hiphop album which puts all others to shame. And despite what has been written, this also happens to be one sweet listening pleasure. Sure there's a definite rough edge and immediacy, but the Bastard can slip in some velvety Isaac Hayes touches when called for, and the rhymes kill. A tough street rapper who also happens to be a self-confessed Momma's boy: you gotta like that.
