EC8OR
The One and Only High and Low (Digital Hardcore)

Reviewed by Holly Day

The similarities between Ec8or and the label owner's band, Atari Teenage Riot, are impossible to avoid. They both use lots of static and low-tech sound effects to create harsh, aggressive-sounding recordings, and there's more screaming than actual singing on all the tracks. So, if you like Atari Teenage Riot, you're probably going to like this, too-and yes, I like both bands, it just seems kind of pointless to have two bands that sound exactly the same in my CD collection. The one big difference between the bands is that Ec8or's lyrics deal mostly with getting in trouble and drinking Nyquil, while ATR has a more serious political bent. But that's about it.
