FIRESIGN THEATER
Questions and Answers (Firezine Productions)

Reviewed by Rusty Pipes

This live recording of the Firesign Theater from May of 1975 is a special release by the Firesign Theater's official fan magazine, Firezine. Many of the pieces are shortened versions of items from other albums, including a performance of Waiting For The Electrician, plus a take on High School Madness (from Dwarf), and other favorites like Ralph Spoilsport (2 Places) and 40 Great Unclaimed Melodies (Dear Friends). There's also another take on Shakespeare's Lost Comedie, Anythynge You Want To, which was first released to the public as a part of Not Insane but in the early 80's had an entire album devoted to it. Another true rarity is the final piece, Exorcism In Your Daily Life, a hilarious education film spoof from their radio shows that came to light a few years ago on New Pink Hotel Burns Down.

1975 was well after the various Firesigners had started their various solo and duo projects, so it's an interesting time to hear them perform. Unfortunately the whole show is not here but at 62 minutes there's a lot of great material on this CD. The recording quality is a little echoey, and sometimes the 4 or 5 are not quite on mike, but it still all makes for an enjoyable listen.

All this and it helps support Firezine too! Check out the Official Firesign Site at www.firezine.net.
