OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN
The Best Of Olivia Newton-John -
The Millennium Collection (Hip-O)

While her cute-as-a-button good looks and sweet as sugar vocal stylings might have inspired scoffing from the too hip for their own good crowd, there's no denying that Olivia Newton-John carved out a formidable niche in the music scene of the 70's. As she moved from country sweetheart to pop star to Adult Contemporary icon, and co-starred in one of the most enduring hit films of the era, she racked up some enviable chart success. In addition to her success on the Country and A.C. lists, she was a pop phenomenon. 11 of the 12 tracks on this disc were Pop top tens, with four number ones, including "Physical," which held the top slot for ten consecutive weeks. That's an impressive record, and it was accomplished with some pretty damn impressive performances. Schmaltzy? Sure, sometimes. OK, most times. But she did it with style and sincerity, and this Best Of deserves a spot on any complete pop music shelf.

Track List:

Let Me Be There * I Honestly Love You * Have You Never Been Mellow * Please Mr. Please * Hopelessly Devoted To You * A Little More Love * Magic * Suddenly (w/Cliff Richard) * Deeper Than The Night * Physical * Heart Attack * Twist Of Fate (w/John Travolta)
