This is an incredible record! Somewhat shrouded in mystery, it apparently features Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown and solo) on guitar and Jesse Malin (Heart Attack, D-Generation) on bass, and the singing is done by Colin Burns. Everyone uses pseudonyms, though, so it's hard to tell. I have no idea who the drummer ("Rick O'Shea") is. What it is, though, is an amazing pastiche of Germs/Black Flag style hardcore punk, with ten songs clocking in at under 15 minutes! The songs are really, really good, and include ditties like "Vendetta," "Coma for $$$," "Riot" and more. "Inside My Brain" sounds like a cross between "Rise Above" and "We Must Bleed." All of it was recorded while Adams was producing Malin's first solo album on a lark, as Adams is a big Black Flag fan. Who woulda thunk it?
