All leather outfitted, greasy haired power punk trio from Japan defy tradition and hurl up a snarly American garage record in their native tongue. And why not. Sure Japanese singing in English is cute, but even Shonen Knife gets tiresome. Nevermind that I can't understand a single word of this slab (and really, that goes for a lot of good records), I can certainly enjoy the vitriol of Guitar Wolf. All guitars and drums and yelling - it's only rock and roll and I like it. They sound like they really mean it ... man. And if they aren't true punks, perhaps singing about chocolate milkshakes and cuddly toys, then the joke's on me, and their rating goes up another notch.
