NAGISA NI TE
Feel (Jagjaguwar)

This disc always presents a problem to me in giving it a proper review, because while I like every single track on it, there's something about the songs that makes listening to the entire album in one sitting a little tedious. Perhaps it's because there's so much similarity between one song to the next that it's almost like listening to an hour-long-plus pop song, and I'm not particularly well-known for performing Herculean tests of endurance. So in little bits, this album is great, but only in little, even random, bits. The songs are all slow, easy pop songs sung in Japanese with cool, weird samples punctuating broad instrumentals that remind me of the later years of the Beatles, for some reason. The lyric sheet is all in English, which is nice, because even though you can't really match Japanese vocals with an English lyric sheet, the translated songs read like really nice poetry about love and dreams and pieces of nature.
