POCO
Running Horse (Drifter's Church)

I have to admit, when I unwrapped this one my first thought was "Is this a
good idea?" I wasn't at all sure that the answer might be "Yes." Well, it
turns out that the answer is "YES!"
Maybe it's the return of original drummer George Grantham, who left in 1977,
or the introduction of the new guy, Jack Sundrud, but the band, which
includes founding member Rusty Young and Paul Cotton, a member for over 30
years, sounds great, with new songs that are equal to any of their classic
hits and a level of energy that puts the young'uns that have come up behind
them during their 13 year recording hiatus to shame.
With some subtle assists from friends like Bill Lloyd and John Cowan, the
band offers up a dozen good reasons to know Poco in their new incarnation,
every one of which is heads and shoulders above the average Clear Channeled
hat act's latest output.
Poco? YES!
