ROGER MIRET & THE DISASTERS
Roger Miret & The Disasters (Hellcat)
Reviewed by DJ Johnson
Is the Oi! thing still going on? Hell, maybe it is. I've been into other things so I wouldn't necessarily know. What's a bigger surprise to me is that Roger Mirat is still going, a few decades down the road since his first out-of-tune warblings with Agnostic Front. The biggest surprise is that he doesn't sound like a burnout by the time of this 2002 release (yes, I let this one sit around longer than usual, but hey, it fell behind stuff, okay?). There's nothing on this CD that's going to set the punk world on its ear, nothing that's going to inspire a shift or a splinter, but like many of his original band's recordings, it's a CD that can rev you up pretty good for half an hour, and one you'll find yourself going back to instead of committing it to the dusty section of the CD shelf. Sometimes that's all you really need from a band and their CD.
