ZERO BOYS
Vicious Circle (Panic Button)

Reviewed by DJ Johnson

Is it possible that eighteen years have slipped past since Zero Boys released this unbelievable album that must now be called an "artifact"? Well then, why does it sound so fresh? Two reasons: it was born in '82, when hardcore punk was at its very best, and it had real songs, not just a collection of aimless sonic tantrums. "Civilizations Dying" remains one of the greatest tunes of any era of punk music, and that's just the beginning of the story of Vicious Circle. All the songs stick. Not just a little stick. 18 years later they're still stuck. To me, anyway. It's fast, aggressive and angry, but it's structured and it's hotter than a viagra overdose. Two previously unreleased tracks are dangled as a carrot for owners of older copies. Get it!
