CHOMSKY
Onward Quirky Soldiers (Idol Records)

Pop music is like peanut butter. Some like it creamy, some like it chunky.
If you're part of the chunky crowd, you're gonna love Onward Quirky
Soldiers. The best pop band in Dallas by most accounts (including those of
the Dallas Observer and the Fort Worth Weekly), Chomsky could well be the
best pop band in most any town they decided to settle in.
Tough guitars, pulsing keyboard and tight harmonies are laid down on top of
a rock solid rhythm section. These local legends sold thousands of copies
of their debut, A Few Possible Selections For The Soundtrack Of Your Life,
before assigning it to Idol, the Dallas indie that has managed to break
national acts before, and appears to be about to again. "OO:15:00" is
tagged as the first single, but there's not a moment on the disc that's not
radio-ready.
It's a great, chunky pop record, full of songs so good they'll stick to the
roof of your mind.
