The laconic Texan drawl of country gentleman Jimmie Dale Gilmore is really a treasure not to be missed, and if you haven't had the pleasure, then may I suggest "One Endless Night"? Worth it just for a breathtaking slow version of "Mac the Knife," this record is chock full of highlights. Understated duets with Emmylou Harris and Victoria Williams seals the deal, though this is a Gilmore album through and through. Play from start to finish, and stick around for a great hidden track to boot. Very nice.
