RAGING SLAB
The Dealer (Tee Pee)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
The Slab is back man! Rocking hard like the fiery trailer that adorns the cover,
Raging Slab come out of the grave after a healthy hiatus, sounding quite
contemporary: just when the heavy, stoner, rawk bandwagon is peaking. Or has it
peaked? Could be, and the Slab may be a band outta time yet again. There really
wasn't an audience when the Slab was first playing sorta stuff (acidified Lynyrd
Skynyrd southern rock laced with heavy metal pounding), and sadly, the bong
crowd may be moving on now. If only the Slab had released their records when
Kyuss
and Fu Manchu were riding high in the dessert haze, they coulda been a somebody.
