The thing I suppose I dislike the most about the majority of trance electronica is that it just sounds to me like the DJ's a lazy fuck who forgot he was supposed to be spinning records and took off to get himself a cup of coffee while the records he had spinning just play themselves out against a prerecorded drum track. Now, I know this probably isn't the case, and that the songs on this record were all carefully constructed to maximize dancing and trancing pleasure, but it just sounds like over two hours of different settings on a drum machine played against a couple of nondescript swirly effects records and the occasional isolated vocal track to me.
