EVERYBODY UH OH
Man Am I Brad (Arborvitae)

This is just a marvelous album. Not only are the lyrics intelligent and the vocals and instrumentation wonderful, the mix is just perfect - bad mixes have become one of my biggest pet peeves lately, and it was nice to put this on and have no complaints about the mix whatsoever. The songs are glittery dream-pop orchestrations featuring tense, Eno-like guitar solos, fuzzy synth, echoey, crisp piano, and soft, wistful-sounding vocals that never go beyond the singers' singing capabilities, even when they're on the verge of being shouted. I don't even know what the songs are about, let alone what's been sung, because the vocals blend in so perfectly with the music that they sound like another well-played instrument in the cast.
