Imagine a set with two of America's best electric guitar slingers. Stir in some musical history that mixes some down home Cajun spirits with some fiery bar-band blues, and you get Tab Benoit and Jimmy Thackery tearing it through 11 tracks that range from Benoit's own "Nice and Warm" to a soulful cover of Bob Dylan's "Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat." Jimmy Thackery came up with the legendary Eastern Seaboard band The Nighthawks before launching a solid solo career and Tab Benoit has shared the stage with the likes of the late, great Luther Allison. Whiskey Store's a fun record that brings out the best from Jimmy and Tab. The CD draws on their respective styles nicely.
