JUDITH OWEN
Limited Edition (Dog on the Bed Music)

It's hard to listen to this and not make automatic comparisons to Tori Amos, just because a) the two women sound so similar vocally and b) not only do they sing like each other, they both play piano. It does not take a rocket scientist to make the connection. The main difference between the two women - musically, that is - is that where Tori Amos has a bit of an angry bite to her songs, Judith Owen sings love songs full of hope and happiness. Not surprisingly, and probably having a large part to do with this palatable happy-girl attitude, her songs have appeared on TV shows from Felicity to The Simpsons, where she performed as a cabaret act in fully animated form.
