The Gentle Art of Making Enemies (Fearless)

Reviewed by Holly Day

I know there are a million bands out there that sound like this, and they all sound like Jawbox, but it's so nice to put something like this on and just be blown away with how good they sound. God damn, this guitar player ("Sean") is talented enough to quit whatever crappy day job he has and make a good living as a studio hack in between gigs, if he wanted to - the rest of the band can keep up with him, but it's obvious that it's the guitarist that's the center of these music arrangements. Boy, can he grind that axe, or whatever the kids are saying these days. These songs just Charge!, full of energy and adrenaline that never wavers at any point in the album, with melodic vocals and decent lyrics that make this band stand apart from the crowd of other bands trying to sound exactly like this.
