NEKROMANTIX
Return Of The Loving Dead (HellCat)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
You can add psychobilly to the list of music genres that those crazy Swedes are mastering these days. By slipping ghoulish references ("Generation 666," "Who Killed the Cheerleader") into their rippin' rockabilly sounds, the Nekromantix create a two-headed monster of a sound bite. The cheeky attitude is backed by solid playing, especially noticeable on a couple of slower, countrified moments. Besides, there's little to complain about when the lead singer also happens to slap a stand up coffin bass.
