THE PERFECT ME
self-titled (self-released)
Reviewed by Holly Day
Wow, this is just so fucking annoying it's awesome! I love it! Grown-ups
singing children's songs' repeated refrains in falsetto chorus against walls
of static, keyboard samples, high-pitched, distorted screaming voices,
cartoon noises, odd thumping sounds, records being sped up and slowed down
again and again, out-of-tune porno guitar, white noise, bugs, etc., etc.,
The vocals are just awful/wonderful, as though someone was originally taped
singing in the shower to themselves and then music was constructed around
those meandering, private little songs. I can't think of a better album to
play to get rid of unwanted house guests, or scare off unsuspecting
trick-or-treaters.
