Billy Volume One (Hepcat)

A solid hour of brand spankin' new rockabilly is just what the doctor ordered. The revival that refuses to leave, rockabilly continues to be romanced by bands all over the world, from grizzly American veterans Reverend Horton Heat to ghoulish Norway trio Nekromantix. There are some familiar names here, Big Sandy and Wayne Hancock to name a couple, but for the most part this slab is brimming with little known fresh talent. Talent like James Intveld whose smooth croon on "Cryin' Over You" has an authentic fifties stamp all over it. In fact a lot of the young upstarts here deliver classic style rockabilly that used to rule half a century ago. Rockabilly is alive and well, and being picked up by yet another generation who know a good thing when they hear it.
