THE WAKE UPS
Wanna Meet the Wake Ups? (Laughing Outlaw)

The saddest thing about globalization is that all these bands from all over the world are starting to sound the same. See, I never would have guessed this band was from Australia, because they really just sound like one more teen pop-punk band from California, with hoppy bouncy percussion, shouted-sung vocals about love'n'stuff, and the requisite melodic harmonizing interludes to balance off the loud parts and make it palatable for those less-than-angry crowds. Really, if anyone wants to do civilization a favor, someone should start something like the Shaman Project like they have with the Yamomamo Indians in South America, where a group of promising youngsters are completely isolated from civilization and allowed to practice their art without interference from modern culture. Maybe then there'd be a little diversity in the international music scene, instead of everyone following the same damned bouncing ball.
