BARCELONA PAVILION
It's the Barcelona Pavilion (Rough Trade)

Reviewed by Erick Mertz

In my home, the one previous to this one to be exact, I lived in a state of relative bachelor squalor, the kind of everyday drag that sapped energy and lacked any hint of eccentricity. Dishes were left in the sink for days, making me think of Mr. Slominski, my 8th grade science teacher who would overcome with glee at their culture of bacteria, and stacks of gaming magazines were often left strewn across the floor. It's not that I deal in Obsessive Compulsive tendencies, but tidiness I believe is a sign of a certain kind of intelligence, that one which respects and thrives in space.

If you feel the same way, then It's the Barcelona Pavilion's 7" is a neat little item for you. Forget the three other songs and concentrate on "Tidy Up." Sure the other stuff is cool, but set your focus on "Tidy Up." Any song that urges its subject to put away the rice cooker is your anthem.

And mine too.
