...Laughin' In The Poorhouse (Indie)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Hey lookie: hats, ties and suspenders! Even if you don't care much for that retro swing music, props must be given to stylish wardrobes. War era big band jump jazz, without the big band, fittingly recorded at The Old Almonte Town Hall and mixed at Marni's Diner, ...Laughin' in the Poorhouse is a swell flashback to days of struggling optimism in a simple small town kinda way. A horn blowing good time, especially on "Countryfried" and "Spark It Up Sparky." There's no denying the chutzpa of Ottawa's longstanding traditionalists, who've certainly found their niche.
