If the first two Riverdales albums were modeled on the first three Ramones LPs, then this new one is their Road To Ruin. A drummer change brings Dan Lumley aboard, replacing original drummer Dan Sullivan, and like Sullivan (and Ben "Weasel" Foster and Dan Schafer), Lumley is also a Screeching Weasel alumnus. Five years have passed since the Riverdales' Storm The Streets CD. There's been four Screeching Weasel albums, a Ben Weasel solo album, and Dan Schafer's other band the Methadones. Like most, I'd assumed there would be no more Riverdales releases. And then all of the sudden they got one together. And it's a doozy, too. Full of snazzy gems like "Homesick," "Sniper" and "I Believe In You And Me."
