SHAI HULUD
That Within Blood Ill-Tempered (Revelation Recs)
Reviewed by Jason

The tuneless raging on the mic and the algebraic,
metallic arrangements are pushing forward,
absorbing all in their path like a blaze
seemingly out of control. That's how the
once-innocent person with headphones/headache
could sum up Shai Hulud's newest disc. Then
again, S.H. don't exactly lounge a whole lot.
Their three-song Profound Hatred of Man
(1997) started things off on a theme they've
preserved, and they've yet to even flirt with
flirting with melody. Luckily, you know exactly
what you're in for with them.
8/10
