This definitely has the T-Rex-vibe going for it, mixing very cool, swirly electric guitar riffs with basic blues and mellow, throaty vocals. The Wales-based band transcends the whole glam thing as well as T-Rex did, too, with songs filled with brilliant lyrics about crazy girls and being high and instrumentation as varied as bongo drums and tinkly bells and piano and Wurlitzers and gorgeous horns and lots of dirty-sounding guitar - some of the resulting songs are almost too sophisticated and grown-up for me to absolutely love, but the album as a whole is so wonderfully clever and beautiful that it's nearly impossible not to fall in like with.
