TRAILER BRIDE
Hope Is A Thing With Feathers (Bloodshot)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Is perfecting desperate American noire twang a good thing? That's a personal matter, but really, who doesn't enjoy a good musical thrill of the haunting variety? Melissa Swingle's deliciously croaky vocal, a loping rhythm section, tasteful guitar plucking and a saw: it's a recipe for a blissful musical disaster. White trash production is handled perfectly by Southern Culture on the Skids guitar whiz Rick Miller, who knows a good thing when he hears one. Trailer Bride continue blazing a formidable trail of down and out weepers sure to hit home, whether you'll admit it or not.
