IN THIS ISSUE OF COSMIK DEBRIS: Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets discusses his passion for the guitar, his own record label and more; Holly Day pulls double duty this month, first following the flying fried chicken to its source to check out the latest happenings within Southern Culture On The Skids, and then heading off to find out how The Handsome Family do the things they do; The 13 O'Clock News takes a look at a lesser known poll, ducks for a passing asteroid, clears up things you thought you heard but surely didn't, probably, and plenty more. Plus scads (scads??)... okay, oodles (oodles?!) Okay, a #$&!load of CD reviews, DVD, book and film reviews and our growing slate of monthly columns, all in the November issue of Cosmik Debris Magazine.

Audible Debris COSMIK RADIO!: Enjoy an hour of the same kind of genre-whiplash you find in the pages of Cosmik Debris Magazine when you listen to Cosmik Radio. We think metal SHOULD segue into reggae, just as hip hop should cross-fade with country. The only rule we follow is "pick great music."

You just need a RealAudio Player to listen. If you don't have one, go pick one up. Cosmik Radio is just the kind of Net-Only audio that radio station program directors don't want you getting hooked on. So go ahead. Inhale!

AXE CHAT WITH EDDIE ANGEL - Los Straitjackets guitarist Eddie Angel discusses his lifelong love affair with the guitar, life before the masks, his own record label, his current, must unusual guitar, and meditation through dribbling. (Interview by DJ Johnson)

TALKIN' CHICKEN WITH SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS - Holly Day serves up the finger lickin' facts about chicken throwin', Mojo-infused Southern Culture on the Skids.

FAMILY COUNSELING FROM THE HANDSOME FAMILY - Brett Sparks of husband-and-wife singer-songwriter duo Handsome Family is quizzed by Holly Day, in part to find out how they manage to stay together!

TIME FOR THE THIRTEEN O'CLOCK NEWS - Tracking polls, flash polls, electronic polls, cell phone polls, push polls... The only place with more polls than the U.S. press is Poland! But we've got the Pizza Polls. We've also got the skinny on staying skinny through paint, a guide to correctly misunderstanding Bush Administration honchos, a shot of Elton in the john and so very much more. All the news that's news to you, or would be, anyway, if it were true.

CD & RECORD REVIEWS - We've got many diverse sounds reviewed for you here, including opera! Yes! And we like it!

EVERYTHING ELSE IN REVIEW - Books you've gotta read (or hear), vids you've gotta rent (or be warned about), and movies to go see are what we have showcased for you this month.

CLOSET PHILOSOPHY - Well what do you think Rusty's on about? Football, of course, and changing quarterbacks! And VOTING... make sure you vote on November 2nd!

COSMIK BLUES - Eric Steiner had another Blues dream comes true last month. He tells you about his experience and throws in a history lesson to boot.

PIGSHIT by GARY PIG GOLD - The Breathers have a new album out this month and Gary brings you a personalized track by track historical commentary on the recording.

MOVING IN STEREO - After a very busy month, Darren gives us the best off the Shelf, the Stage and the Island (Long Island, of course!).

MUSICAL MAVERICS - A new column debuts this month. Chris Forbes brings us the first of the Musical Mavericks he will be showcasing, Lou Harrison!

CREDITS - The names and e-mail addresses of the people responsible for this thing.

COSMIK RADIO - Want an hour of music that fits the personality of Cosmik Debris Magazine? That's right, Sinatra segues into Megadeth into Peter Tosh into Man Or Astro-Man into... well, you get the picture. It's a little something we like to call Genre Whiplash. Or maybe you're in the mood for a trip into The Fog Machine, our mix of music of the ethereal variety. All you need is a RealAudio player. Come on in.

OUR OWN WEBSITES - Many of the Cosmik Debris writers have websites of their own. We have some links right here.

Welcome to the November 2004 edition of Cosmik Debris Magazine. We're dropping this one in your laps on election day, November 2nd, a few days later than we anticipated. We had hoped to get a chance to change a few minds before ballots were cast, but we're not going to sweat it because 1) if the email we receive from you folks is any indication, we're preaching to the choir anyway, and 2) everyone's basically had their minds made up for quite a while. (Most of us think the "undecideds" are a work of fiction created out of whole cloth by the news media for our entertainment. I mean, c'mon... what the hell else could it be?) We'll change the nagging blue GO VOTE banner at the top of this page tomorrow. Meanwhile, in case you've forgotten, GO VOTE!

We have one important announcement this month. For the second issue in a row we are welcoming a new member of the Cosmik Crew. Jeremy Barker is a musician and journalist from Georgia who would like you to know that Zell Miller doesn't represent him. Yes, well, add your name to the list, Jeremy. And welcome aboard.

Enjoy the issue, enjoy your right to vote, and I'll talk to you next month.
