The question should really be: who is this Antibalas? This fourteen headed funk monster has the pulse of the nation under thumb, and man, it is racing. Asking tough political questions via soul music hearkens back to the grand days of the blaxploitation vibe when Stone was Sly, Marvin was Gaye and James was Brown. Sweaty horn sections, grinding organs, obese bass lines and vigilante vocals - this is the incendiary afrobeat goods that'll make you want to tear down the system while yer ass shakes uncontrollably.
