FREAK-1-C

FREAK-1-C is a West London 6-piece that draws equally on the traditions of
grunge, prog, funk, and straight out rock'n'roll. Powered along by the
Creed-esque vocals of front man Ian Husbands, this album gives a glimpse of
what one would suspect to be a band that plays way long into the night,
long after the last people leave the bar. The songs have that kind of sound to
them, as though this is a band that ends up wearing out the audience, and
even gets energized by wearing the audience out. The slow grooves of songs
like "Why?" meander on calmly as though lulling the listener to sleep with
soothing vocals and melancholy minor chords, while other songs, like "Take
What You Mean," show off Tim "Caesar" O'Sullivan's Yes-esque skills as a
prog rock guitar noodler.
