This disc provides a great overview of the wide variety of material Cavity Search Records has been putting out over the past decade, from the loud rockin'-out sounds of Gern Blanston to the neo-countryesque sounds of Richmond Fontaine. Some of the outstanding tracks here happen to come from both of those acts, as well as the metal-heavy Control Freak, the jazzy vibes of Wayne Horvitz, the funky grooves of Doghead, and the deceptively innocent-sounding acoustic narratives of Elliot Smith.
