WEEN
Live In Chicago (Sanctuary)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Hey lookie: a CD and DVD all in the ultimate Ween overkill package. What a way to go: Dean and Gene giving up the luv rock live to frenzied fans eagerly devouring every nudge nudge wink wink guitar solo guitar solo. Oh yes the pranksters of pop have actually developed into competent live musicians so now not only do we get the hilarity, but we also get the groove. Seventeen tracks are crammed into the CD, which you may think is quite enough thank you very much, but I say NO, try the DVD technology which allows even more than your daily recommended allowance of taboo rock. Plus when you dress up, sprint across the living room several times getting good and sweaty, douse your head with beer, and scream along to anthemic subversions like "Spinal Meningitis Got Me Down," YOU ARE THERE!
