DRY & HEAVY
Full Contact (BSI)

That the names Dry and Heavy sound like Sly and Robbie is probably no accident.
These two Japanese artists play mighty fine reggae, which is presented in dub format,
and they clearly learned their chops from listening to the aforementioned Jamaican studio
masters. Full Contact is a fantastic listen for anyone who loves dub music. The
sonic textures run deep here, but the key ingredient, and the one which far too many
modern dub artists don't seem to understand, is space. Reverb creates space, and while
other artists rush to fill that space with a million beeps, tweets and bloops, Dry and
Heavy let it alone. The result is a huge sound that surrounds the listener and lets
his or her imagination fill the spaces. Extremely well done and highly recommended.
