Wretched name, fellas. Merseybeat by way of Mississippi. British Invasion via the Deep South USA. Easily of the best groups you've never heard of. I first heard the Gants on the Rhino compilation Nuggets. They really stood alone, with the Elastik Band, the Sonics, and the Music Machine. A great band that never (sadly) even got big enough for a 'Where Are They Now?' segment on VH-1.
