MR. T. EXPERIENCE
The Miracle Of Shame (Lookout)

Reviewed by DJ Johnson

Dr. Frank seems to be experimenting a bit on the latest Mr. T. Experience record, mixing traditional T-burners with other tracks that contain -- gasp! -- production! We're talkin' Brian Wilsonish stuff, especially on the opening cut, "Spy vs Spy." If this was one of the angsty three-chord punk bands, there'd be a backlash. I predict it won't happen that way for Mr. T. Frank's writing has always been clever and humorous, and there's always been a suggestion that he could produce work like this. The Doc is an artist, folks, and you've gotta let an artist evolve. However, he's written a prescription for those who can't cope. Skip to track 3 for "Mr. Ramones" and call me in the morning. This five track EP (17 minutes and 9 seconds) is built for the headphones. Wear 'em. Give this a real going over. We always knew this was a great band. Now we know it's lead by a real artist.
