SOILENT GREEN
A Deleted Symphony for the Beaten Down (Relapse)

As this cd wore on I noticed the songs becoming
more interesting and less formulaic. When they’d
go to the blast beat part (which have lost any
impact they once had on me, and at one point, I
lived for them!) it would only
be slightly less boring than whatever Louis
Benjamin Falgoust II (the vocalist) was going on
about in between.
I’d give this Symphony a B-. There’s definite
room for improvement, and here’s hoping they’re
up for the task, because they do have
something.
One bit of advice though--
Leave the chaos to Napalm Death please. You can’t
even touch what they probably throw away in
rehearsals when you opt for the accelerator, but
you are quite interesting when the band steps
back and simply broods. More
please!
Bonus points for the creepy tapestry in the inner
artwork.
