This is an interesting collection of music from the Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records roster - a label I admit I'm not familiar with, but from this collection, it sounds like I should be. Contributions to the collection include tracks from Ross Beach, Scott Spillane (Gerbils, Neutral Milk Hotel), Princeton Reverbs Colonial, and lots more, making 25 tracks in all. Outstanding tracks on here include the surreal, calliope-sounding kazoo-loaded Red Pony Clock's "The Day I Became My Lawn," as well as Dear Nora's on-the-edge-and-about-to-jump-off "Up On the Roof," which is all anybody ever needs to remember how horrible it is to be just past 18.
