Unquiet Grave III (Cleopatra)

For fans of dark wave and Goth music, this CD and the others in its series are absolute must-haves. Cleopatra is a rarity among record labels in that they actually listen to the demos bands send them, and this series is the best of those artists. This one's a 2-CD set, about 150 minutes of music for a list price of 10 bucks (!), and I'm here to tell you we're not talking about low-fi, no-talent garbage. This is the true throb of the underworld, music by artists who have used the Internet to get at least a taste of the recognition they deserve or are on their way to experiencing that for the first time. I'm not going to pick out any individual songs or artists because it's uniformly strong throughout and I don't want to turn this into a feature-length article. Just know this: you get just about all bases of Goth covered, from the industrial to the dark wave to the pure. If that's your cup of blood, then I'm pleased to alert you to this series, because the next step (after picking these up) is seeking the bands out on the Net, where you're sure to find a whole lotta MP3s the bands want you to have. God, I love the Internet.
