THE HANGMEN
We've Got Blood On The Toes Of Our Boots (Acetate)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
The Hangmen live - is there any other way? Rip roarin' garage twang rock from the seedy side of Los Angeles, delivered with just the right balance of sobriety and chaos. A delicate balance to be sure, but this kind of sonic excursion needs a bit of the devil fuel to burn brightly. Head Hangman Bryan Small's swaggering stagger is reminiscent, in many ways, of the late Jeffrey Lee Pierce. If the self-destructive bastard can keep his shit together and give the band a coupla years, The Hangmen could be huge.
