Yes, it's a movie soundtrack ... but one that plays like a great mix crossroads tape. The Fat Possum roster (R.L. Burnside, T-Model Ford, Asie Payton, et al) sets the Delta blues scene before Tom Waits enters the fray, and before you know it Steve Earl has jumped in, and Tom Verlaine is jamming with the Kronos Quartet (by phone no less). How's that sound? Pretty darn fine if'n you ask me.
