The missing tracks from the legendary Purple Tape, half of which supplied the debut Pixies slab, is finally unleashed. Since most tracks were eventually re-recorded and available on various releases these versions should only pique completists, die hards who wanna dissect the various versions, and folks in need of an introduction. And yet the Pixies still sound great fifteen years after the fact; hearing them at their frenetic and frantic infancy is definitely a thrill.
